Marine Atlantic Alternate Dock
North Sydney, NS
Marine Atlantic operates a vital ferry link between North Sydney, NS
and Port aux Basques, NF. A new alternate dock was constructed in North
Sydney to accommodate a 16,700 DWT vessel. The new dock included a new
transfer bridge, hydraulic lifting system, panelized fendering system,
bollards, lighting, emergency power and water services.
Eastern Designers was responsible for
complete services including coordination of electrical, mechanical and
hydraulic engineering services, preliminary and final design,
preparation of contract documents, review of shop drawings and
full-time site inspection.
