Salisbury Irving Big Stop
Salisbury, NB
The largest Irving Big Stop in Canada is located on Route 2 near
Salisbury, NB. The building is 1700 m² and incorporates a gas bar,
convenience store, 250 seat restaurant as well as a truck plaza. The
building features a unique roof shape. The structure was framed with a
combination of wood and steel framing. Architecturally pleasing exposed
steel HSS trusses were used in the dining area.
Eastern Designers provided complete
structural engineering services including concepts, preliminaries,
final design, contract documents and site inspections to confirm
compliance with the documents. The approach involved fast-tracking a
private sector project while still delivering a cost effective structure
