Miramichi Regional Hospital
Miramichi, NB
Built in 1993, the Miramichi Regional Hospital is New Brunswick’s
newest hospital; a state-of-the-art, 183-bed, acute care facility. The
6 storey, 35,000 m² hospital was constructed with structural steel
framing. Compositely designed floor beams were used for economy, fire
resistance and vibration resistance. The structural design work for
this project was completed in a 4 month period in a fast-tracked
phasing mode.
Eastern Designers provided complete
structural engineering services including concepts, preliminaries,
final design, contract documents and site inspections to confirm
compliance with the documents. This project indicates Eastern
Designers’ ability to complete a major project on a fast tracked
approach within a limited time and bring the project in on time and on
budget while being part of a large group including a project management
team, architects, cost consultants and electrical, mechanical and
geotechnical engineers.
